US Healthcare Loses $120-250B to Fraud

According to the Identity Theft Resource Center, “the healthcare sector accounted for 42.5 percent of total cases of identity theft, the highest rate of any industry.”

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) estimates that between US$75 and US$250 billion is lost annually in healthcare programs nationwide.

In 2015, according to Eric Holder, ex-attorney general of USA stated that MediCare and Medicaid fraud was as high as $120 Billion annually

The Largest Identity Breach.

• Over 143 Million Identities Stolen! • Fraudulent Tax Returns • Social Security Numbers

Ransomware attacks: Weak passwords are now your biggest risk

Researchers at F-Secure analyzed attacks over the course of six months and found that brute force attacks are now the preferred means of spreading ransomware – but phishing emails remain popular.

Why? Passwords are a pain! To secure them they must either be long and complex or changed every 30 days.

Nimbus-Key

Nimbus-T has obtained a patent on their Nimbus-Key Secure Identity Management and Authentication system by The USPTO in December 2018.

Nimbus-T, Inc is a C-corp in Delaware that was founded at the end on 2013. As with most startups, it has been bootstrapped to this date without debt and a dedicated global team.

Nimbus-T Main ID Engine.

The Nimbus-Key App in development includes services that are invaluable for hospital systems, doctors, staff and patients, these include a mobile app, desktop registration and control panel. The platform will be described in detail.

It is imperative that with the advancing risks regarding cybercrime, identity theft, and fraud, a new approach at protecting patient information must be created from the ground up. First a novel new secure identity issuance of a global ID that is encrypted and easy to use by way of a QR code. Then make it dynamic on the smart phone, also make the PIN code dynamic. The risk of stealing login information is reduced significantly.

Patient Module

We first register all patients with a selfie pic and compare with the image of their government issued ID before we create an account to ensure we are not allowing fake accounts. Then a global ID, a Nimbus-Key is issued, authentication with 2FA. We provide the patient with a mobile app that will manage: secure login from anywhere around the world, healthcare insurance information, medical history, medication list, allergies, and illnesses. We will give them the ability to communicate with other patients (like me groups) as well as with providers, receive news and updates on health issues, and a telehealth system right from their phone.

Provider Module

Doctors, nurses and hospital employees will be able to login to hospital systems with a quick scan and tap with 2FA. Our system will enable the provider to improve patient care by having information quickly at hand and not having to spend hours on EMR systems. A communications and messaging platform and a telehealth platform to improve collaboration and efficiency. Identity management of patients and their medical information where-ever that information may reside. One app helping deliver quality care efficiently.

Authentication Module

In today’s advancing world, passwords are getting to be less secure than once believed. To improve on security we have all been asked to use long passwords but even these are hacked. We are using a dynamic issued encrypted Nimbus-Key unique to each person and a dynamic PIN code. 2-factor authentication model which enhances the security of your information. We are the entry point to other healthcare systems and we manage other identities across the healthcare system. One secure encrypted ID to connect to other healthcare IDs. If a physical card is needed, we can provide this also.

Messaging Module

The messaging module allows providers to message securely other providers and patients. Providers can create groups with their physical world referral networks and collaborate more efficiently. Curbside consults as these are called have been a mainstay of interaction and knowledge sharing for decades. Patients can message other patients with their permission and create specific groups focused on similar interests or illness categories.

Notification Module

The notification module is a system that alerts providers or patients regarding important events, lab results, new, permission requests to see your information. When a physician scans your Nimbus-Key on your phone with his/her phone app, you will receive an notification of this request and you then accept or deny. We aim to assist the patient not only with security but with control of the access to your personal information.

API Integrations Module.

The API (application programming interface) is the newest technology that allows systems to communicate more securely and efficiently. We are talking about communication with hospital system’s EMRs, e-prescribing, telehealth, blockchain and smart contracts, artificial intelligence and translations of medical information into numerous languages. Physicians have been very unhappy with EMR systems and they like dictating better because it is more efficient. APIs are available to make this happen.

Blockchain Module

The blockchain is a distributed ledger across many thousands of computers making it very improbable of a attack. Blockchain with smart contracts as in the Ethereum network has many significant opportunities in healthcare. We have been studying and developing the expertise to deliver enterprise solutions for secure prescriptions to reduce opioid over prescribing, monitoring of transactions and data. Cryptocurrencies in healthcare have the opportunity to reduce costs up to 40% by dis-intermediating insurance carriers and third party administrators.

Payment Process Module

Healthcare expenditures in the United States exceed $3 Trillion and growing. The electronic claims process is cumbersome, controlling, inefficient with multiple entities such as third party administrators, network leasing, and now ACOs or accountable care organizations which need more efficient payment systems. The Secure Healthcare app by Nimbus-T will be able to provide a wide spectrum of payments. We currently have a partnership with Secure Global Pay Inc. Furthermore, Nimbus-T is planning to launch a healthcare cyptocurrency (ERC20) NT Coin (token) for healthcare payments. The US SEC has just released a renewed legislation to improve the environment for cryptocurrencies.

Telehealth

Nimbus-Key Telehealth is simple, secure video, text chat, document-sharing, peripheral streaming, & more! Encrypted with military-grade 256-bit AES encryption, Nimbus-Key allows providers to securely video chat with patients in their homes even over 3G cellular networks. Instantly share and mark up lab results, CT scans, documents, and EHR records in real-time just as though you were working in person. Take a snapshot and securely send it through individual or group chats.

Care Teams

Our Care Teams service will be very useful both for doctors who plan surgery and for patients who are going to have a medical operation, groups can be created for family members who will have direct contact with the doctor in charge and can give you Track your family member’s surgery agilely and safely.

Market Opportunity $40 Billion

The global market for biometric technologies, which totaled $14.9 billion in 2015, is expected to reach $41.5 billion by 2020, reflecting a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 22.7% (MarketWired).

The need for unique credentials to authenticate an individual that are much less prone to theft or loss is facilitating the shift from traditional authentication methods to biometrics.

The identity & access management (IAM) market is estimated to grow from USD 8.09 billion in 2016 to USD 14.82 billion by 2021, at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 12.9% between 2016 and 2021. Managing identities and credentials for enterprise resources & information, and efficiently facilitating access management are the critical challenges faced by several organizations across various industry verticals globally.
